Victor's Story
Life
Went to work for TVA out of UTC in '78, and enjoyed ten good years there. During that time, married Wilma Heath (East Ridge, '74), and children Wesley (born in '83) and Rachel (born in '85) arrived. With the departure of David Freeman and the arrival of Marvin Runyon as TVA Board Chair, I was laid off in '88.
Went to work for Cincinnati Gas & Electric in Oct. of '88 and moved to Northern Kentucky where we have been ever since. What was CG&E is now a part of Duke Energy. I am a lobbyist for the company, and represent us before the Kentucky General Assembly in Frankfort, and before Cincinnati City Council. This is a very good gig (!). Wes, now 22, graduates from the University of Cincinnati in June with a degree in Electrical Engineering, then it's on for an MBA. Wes has Cystic Fibrosis, but has enjoyed relatively good health, and is quite active in speaking on behalf of and fund-raising...Expand for more
for the CF Foundation. Rachel (now 20) is a sophomore at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, majoring in Elementary Education, and last year was a member of WKU's National Championship Dance Team. Wilma and I celebrated our 25th anniversary last year, and are continually amazed by our kids (and our many fantastic nieces and nephews), who have become adults while we never seem to age. I often say I would be more proud of my kids, and their cousins....if I knew how to be.
Life has been very good -- I should say that God has been good -- and we are very happy. We have wonderful friends, family and church family, too. My wish is that all my classmates could know the happiness and contentment in their lives that I have been blessed to know.
